YEREVAN. - Traffic video surveillance cameras and speed detectors are still being installed on the highways of Armenia. The speed detectors installed on the Yerevan-Sevan highway will be put into service on July 24, Road Police informs.
At the same time the Road Police reminds that the permissible speed on highway is 70km/h and asks drivers to obey traffic rules.
During the first six months of 2012, video cameras and speedometers have been installed on various intersections and streets of Armenian capital city Yerevan. Over the first six months 1,066 accidents occurred in Armenia’s roads with 118 dead and 1556 injured. Meanwhile, cases of pedestrian-involved accidents have increased significantly.
