YEREVAN. - Mushroom poisoning cases increased recently in Armenia’s Vanadzor city. Total of 7 cases, with 13 people involved, were registered in the Lori Region of Armenia, head of the Lori section of Hygienic and Anti-Epidemic department at the Armenian Ministry of Healthcare Karine Mirzoyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am adding almost all the cases were registered in July.
"All the studied cases revealed that people used mushrooms picked up by them and prepared at home," she said and added only experts can differentiate between mushrooms.
As a matter of fact, the recent poisoning cases were critical and doctors could hardly manage to save the suffered people’s lives.
Mirzoyan called population to avoid eating unknown mushrooms, and in case of suspects of being poisoned to turn immediately to the doctor.
