YEREVAN. - Armenia's minister of health Derenik Dumanyan paid a visit to Ararat medical center in Ararat region. The center has been repaired in 2010 by World Bank Credit project and currently is well equipped. Due to effective management methods the center provides decent public healthcare. During last two years two operating-rooms, the delivery room and departments were kept in perfect condition.
Minister Dumanyan has mentioned that this center is the best functioning institution among all regional hospitals repaired with the financial assistance of World Bank project, press service of ministry of health reports.
“We will enable regional maternity hospitals having such good specialists and facilities to upgrade their rate in order to carry out more complex medical interventions and send patients to Yerevan for child birth only in exceptional cases,” Derenik Dumanyan said.
Dumanyan has also visited maternity hospital of Verdi in order to gain insight into organization of medical services. The hospital’s building has optimization issue.
The situation was even more concerning in Artashat medical center. Repaired in 2008 through state funding, the center at present is in poor condition.
In Masis medical center minister Dumanyan was told that after introduction of state certificates most of registered pregnant women prefer to give birth in capital city. With the assistance of regional council new measures are taken in order to set up attractive conditions.
Upon the end of his visit minister Dumanyan has discussed issues such as effective managements of hospitals, introduction of family doctors and solutions of other problems.
