According to the report issued by Sophos company, the number of attacks on social networks have increased dramatically in 2009. The report says that the reason is more organizations allow their employees to use such websites at work. Under the research, malware and spam number on social networks went up by 70% within recent 12 months. The number of attacks on Twitter and Facebook tripled, xakep.ru website reports.
Thirty-six percent of social network users were sent malware, whereas 57% were spammed. About 72% of IT-specialists working in 500 organizations said that social networks put business at risk, while 49% of respondents allow employees to have access to Facebook and similar websites.
