YEREVAN.- Presidential candidate Andreas Ghukasyan, who has been on hunger strike since Monday, said he feels well.
Asked about other candidate Paruyr Hayrikyan’s willingness to join him, Ghukasyan said he is not the person demanding to stop fake elections in Armenia.
“Hayrikyan’s joining the hunger strike will increase influence of our motto and will raise public confidence in effectiveness of our struggle,” he told reporters on Wednesday. Ghukasyan said he has no intention to stop the hunger strike.
“To stop the strike means to devalue the struggle and the idea itself,” he emphasized.
As reported earlier, presidential contenders Raffi Hovannisian—who heads the opposition Heritage Party—and Aram Harutyunyan—who leads the National Accord party—came to visit him on the first day of his hunger strike, and urged him to end the hunger strike so as not to harm his body.
