YEREVAN. – Five citizens of Armenia have joined at 4.30 pm. on Monday to a presidential candidate Andreas Ghukasyan, who is on hunger strike since Jan. 21. Those citizens will stay with Ghukasyan at night and will continue strike in front of the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) once the preliminary results are available.
It is still unknown whether Ghukasyan will join them in front of the CEC.
“There is no protest but a demand. We have joined to the demand of ‘Stop False Elections.’ These elections were false like the previous ones,” Saro Saroyan, one of the five people on hunger-strike, said.
He claimed in order to destroy the regime the society should turn to civil disobedience, while hunger-strike is a way of expressing it.
To note, Ghukasyan will end his hunger-strike once preliminary results are available on Tuesday.
