YEREVAN. - Although after leaving the presidential residence, Armenian opposition leader, head of Heritage Party Raffi Hovannisian called the people surrounding the building to disperse, some of them are still at the Liberty Square.

When the journalist of Armenian News-NEWS.am visited the square, the representatives of opposition Heritage Party Stepan Safaryan, Zaruhi Postanjyan, Armen Martirosyan, and Anahit Bakhshyan as well as MP from Armenian National Congress Nikol Pashinyan were there. The representative of Heritage Party Stepan Safaryan, in a conversation with the journalist of Armenian News-NEWS.am, said that on Friday at 5PM they have a planned event.

“All these people are waiting for Raffi Hovannisian to finish his other responsibilities and come talk to them,” he noted adding that at 6 pm. Hovannisian will come after finishing with his planned meetings. “I don’t rule out the chance that he will also talk about his meetings with authorities here, and will present to the public not only information about his meeting with the president, but also will talk about his meetings with representatives of international organizations.”

Safaryan added that he hadn’t yet spoken to Hovannisian and did not know the details of his meeting with Serzh Sargsyan. Stepan Safaryan advised to evaluate not the methods, but the results achieved.

“The meeting is only a method to organize the dialogue of transfer of the power. [Armenian incumbent President] Serzh Sargsyan will not be sending the keys to the presidential residence either by post or any other methods, that is why meeting is necessary, so that the communication channels are kept open,” Stepan Safaryan said.
