YEREVAN.- Action in support of presidential candidate Raffi Hovannisian ended in Liberty Square by 8:20pm.
The participants marched along the streets in downtown Yerevan. Then, they returned to the square where Hovannisian bid farewell to his supporters.
Addressing supporters on Friday, Hovhannisian promised to continue the struggle. He announced visits to Armenia’s region and a mass demonstration on Sunday.
Armenia held presidential elections on February 18. Preliminary results issued by Armenia’s Central Electoral Commission showed incumbent President Serzh Sargsyan received 58.64%, while his closest rival Raffi Hovannisian -36.74. The voter turnout reached 1, 521, 931.
