YEREVAN. – Tuesday’s measures carried out by the supporters of Armenia’s opposition Heritage Party Chairman, former FM Raffi Hovannisian—who was declared runner-up to the winner, incumbent President Serzh Sargsyan, as a result of the presidential election that was conducted on February 18, but who claims to be the real winner in the vote—are in fact over.

His supporters passed by the Presidential Residence—on capital city Yerevan’s Baghramyan Avenue—in silence and without making any calls, the Armenian News-NEWS.am reporter informs. And since transport has resumed on the avenue, some of them began to disperse.

At present, there are close to twenty opposition members remaining at the entry of Marshal Baghramian subway station—which is located across the Presidential Residence—, but there are no well-known Heritage members among them.

Other participants in the Hovannisian supporters’ march have walked toward Liberty Square.

But there still are special detachment servicemen on Baghramyan Avenue, near the Presidential Residence.

The next rally of Raffi Hovannisian’s supporters is scheduled for Friday at 6pm.
