YEREVAN. - Armenia’s Minister of Healthcare Derenik Dumanyan discussed the issues related to the adolescent health care with Armenian News-NEWS.am reporter.
According to the minister, the healthcare for children in Armenia will not be paid, as the development of high standards for mothers and children has always been the priority of Armenian government. Dumanyan added that there were several misunderstandings, when parents attempted to pay for the healthcare of their children, even though the healthcare is free of charge.
As for the issue related to the sperm import to Armenia, which was raised by Armenian Revolutionary Federation Dashnaktsutyun, the minister said that there was one case of sperm import to Armenia in 2011. The couple decided to have children, when the husband lived in Australia and the wife was in Armenia. The husband sent his sperm to Armenia through Britain for artificial fertilization. According to the member of Armenian government, that was the only recorded case of sperm import in Armenia.
