The natural gas prices in Ukraine will increase by approximately 40 percent as of Thursday.
The country’s government has reached such a decision due to the International Monetary Fund requirement to bring the gas prices to an economically justified level.
The Ukrainian government hopes to reach this level over the next three years, and by gradually raising the price of natural gas, RFE/RL reported.
