YEREVAN. – President Serzh Sargsyan’s simple removal will not save Armenia.
Opposition ARF Dashnaktsutyun Party National Assembly (NA) Faction Head Armen Rustamyan on Tuesday told the aforementioned to reporters at the NA.
Rustamyan stated the above-said as he presented the four non-ruling NA factions’ (Armenian National Congress, Prosperous Armenia, ARF Dashnaktsutyun, and Heritage) twelve demands from the government.
He recalled that the “parliamentary four” expect the fulfillment of their demands by no later than September 30.
“Otherwise, we will assemble again and try to discuss our future courses of action. A system [of governance] needs to be designed [in Armenia] that will not permit to repeat the mistakes of Sargsyan’s regime,” the ARF MP stated.
The aforementioned twelve demands refer to the mandatory funded pension plan, the restart of the operations of capital city Yerevan’s Nairit chemical rubber plant, a revision of the fines for traffic violations, passing to 100-percent proportional parliamentary elections, and the refusal of any international integration that will undermine the Armenia-Karabakh single economic space.
