YEREVAN. – Electricity prices will go up in Armenia starting from August 1, chairman of the Public Services Regulatory Commission said in parliament on Tuesday.
Robert Nazaryan said increase in electricity rate is inevitable, otherwise Electric Networks of Armenia may appear in a difficult situation with their debt reaching 16 billion 600 million drams.
“It is not pleasant to hear public discontent, but in 2-3 years the energy system may be in a poor state,” he emphasized.
