A checkpoint on Georgia-Russia border may be opened on Friday, Armenian Transport Minister Gagik Beglaryan said during the government's session on Thursday.
According to preliminary reports from Georgian colleagues, the road may be opened on June 14, but the date may be postponed in case renovation works are disrupted by whether conditions.
The Stepantsminda-Lars road, the only route for heavy trucks heading from Georgia to Russia, was closed due to a landslide on May 17.
