YEREVAN. – The first meeting in the series of the Armenia Police-initiated discussions was convened Wednesday with participation by the NGOs that are working in the legal domain.
The objective of this initiative is to strengthen the Police-society cooperation, and to clarify the matters of mutual interest.
In his opening remarks, Armenia Police Public Relations and Information Department Head Ashot Aharonyan noted that the Police underscore the collaboration with the NGOs, and that the time requires the raising of the partnership to a qualitatively new level.
The discussants shared the view that the direct and regular contacts between them will enable to form mutual trust, which primarily stems from the interests of citizens.
The interlocutors also conferred on the areas of cooperation as well as organizational, agenda, and schedule issues.
It was decided to hold the same-format discussions on a regular basis, and to convene the next meeting in one month.
