YEREVAN. – The Armenian government rejected a draft bill on property liability for environmental experts introduced by Prosperous Armenia party.

During the government's meeting on Thursday, Minister of Nature Protection Aramayis Grigoryan said there is no methodology of calculating environmental damage caused by wrong environmental impact assessment (EIA).

The government has not approved another provision of proposed changes, namely the EIA must be approved only by  results of public hearings. In an explanatory note, the Armenian government pointed to the vulnerability of the item, since not all environmental organizations are guided only by reasoned motives of environmental protection.
