YEREVAN. – Education and Science Minister Armen Ashotyan received Iranian Ambassador to Armenia Mohammad Reisi.  

Ashotyan reflected on Armenian-Iranian cooperation and its prospects for development in the domain of education, the Education and Science Ministry press service informed.    

The minister presented several practical proposals with respect to bilateral scholarship programs and mutual recognition of educational documents in higher education.

They spoke about the challenges facing the Iranian students and postgraduate students studying in Armenia, particularly with regard to language problems. In this connection, Ashotyan informed that, aside from Armenian, Russian- and English-language education likewise may be organized for foreign students studying in Armenia. In addition, the minister expressed willingness to have a meeting with the Iranian students studying in Armenia, to personally get familiarized with and resolve their problems.

Ambassador Reisi, for his part, expressed readiness to assist in the implementation of Armenian-Iranian educational programs. 

The interlocutors also discussed the organizational matters for a regional conference, which is slated for this fall, on educational and pedagogical issues.
