YEREVAN. – PepsiCo corporation is examining the quality of fruit juice concentrate samples produced in Armenia, head of Armenian company said.

Arshavir Minasaryan, Director General of  Jermuk International Pepsi Cola Bottler, said the factory launches production of Sandora juices from June 2014. The only Armenian ingredient is water, while concentrate, such as banana, orange and apple concentrate, will be imported.

“Any component used in PepsiCo products must be certified by the company,” he added.  For example, only 3-4 suppliers worldwide have the right to sell orange concentrate.

“But we are working to use local ingredients. Representatives of PepsiCo are examining the sample of Armenia-produced juice concentrate. If they get certificates, we would be happy to purchase local production,” Minasaryan noted.
