ISTANBUL. – Istanbul-Armenian Dikran Altun, who organizes Turkey’s Istanbul-Yerevan-Istanbul flights, has informed that from now on these flights will be conducted once a week, instead of the previous twice a week.
Altun linked the reduction in the Istanbul-Yerevan-Istanbul flights to the worsening economic situation in Armenia, reported Agos Armenian weekly of Istanbul.
“Ninety percent of our passengers come from Armenia; primarily merchants, who [now] have begun to come in a lesser amount. Armenia’s economic situation has caused problems,” Dikran Altun noted.
He also stressed that this year they foresee a worse condition for the chartered Antalya-Yerevan flights in summer.
