YEREVAN. – Armenia will become a member in the Customs Union with its own recognized borders, just as the Rep. of Armenia has joined all other international communities over the course of these 20-23 years.

President Serzh Sargsyan stated the aforesaid on Tuesday, as he was the guest of the “Interview” program on state-funded Public Television.

“It is also true that Armenia has special relations with the second Republic of Armenia, the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic [NKR]. It is wrong to doubt the fact that NKR is an independent state. [But] for certain and very clear consideration, we [Armenia] have not recognized NKR’s independence. Based on other considerations, others likewise have not recognized,” Sargsyan specifically noted.
