YEREVAN. – A total of 65 MPs already have been registered in the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia, and if one or two more MPs are registered, the session may continue. 

NA Vice-Speaker, ruling Republican Party Press Secretary Eduard Sharmazanov on Thursday told the aforesaid to reporters at the NA. 

In his words, there is no problem in what has happened, especially since some MPs did not know that the parliament was start work an hour earlier than usual. 

As for the opposition MPs, who were present in the NA Sessions’ Hall but did not register, Sharmazanov stated that even though the opposition has always accused the parliamentary majority of exercising political boycott and breaking the NA rules, now it is doing the same thing.

“Let them decide now whether it was right not to register, whereas we will start the session in ten-fifteen minutes,” the NA vice-chair noted.     

Due to lack of quorum in the NA Sessions’ Hall, a three-hour recess has been called during which the MPs, who have arrived late, may register and ensure a quorum.
