Armenia and Georgia will not be able to preserve security and stability without each other, Georgian parliament speaker Davit Usupashvili told reporters after his meeting with Armenian president.

The Georgian official said the meeting focused on relations between the states, especially in the context of different paths chosen by the countries, InterpressNews reported.

“We decided to sign an association agreement with the EU, and Armenia agreed to join another union along with Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan This was discussed and we agreed that understand each other's choice, the background and reasons. This further reinforces the need to deepen bilateral relations,” Usupashvili said.

The chosen paths should contribute to strengthening of relations between Georgia and Armenia, instead of creating distance between the states.

“We are well aware that without each other will not be able to maintain out security and stability,” Georgian speaker concluded.
