YEREVAN. – The members of Orinats Yerkis parliamentary faction held political consultations to discuss creation of a working group on amendments to electoral code.
Secretary of Orinats Yerkir party Mher Shahgeldyan said the aim of a working group is to create common political agenda on transition to 100-percent proportional system as it is one of the tasks on the way to democratization.
“We will continue our consultations with non-parliamentary political forces, the representatives of NGOs and civil society,” Shahgeldyan said during a press conference on Thursday.
Shahgeldyan said that the parliamentary political forces had agreed to set up a working group in September that will develop common approaches and documents on transition to a 100-percent proportional election system.
