YEREVAN. – I can present convincing evidence. We have voted without violations on the bill concerning the funded pensions.  

National Assembly (NA) Vice-Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov, who is also press secretary of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), on Saturday announced the aforementioned at the parliament. 

In Sharmazanov’s words, contrary to the opposition NA factions’ accusations, RPA NA Faction member Spartak Melikyan had not voted in lieu of RPA MPs Murad Muradyan and Arman Sahakyan. 

Once the NA on Saturday adopted the bill on making amendments to the Law on Funded Pensions in the first reading, the opposition ARF Dashnaktsutyun and Armenian National Congress parliamentary factions accused the ruling party deputies of voting on the bill in lieu of their absent colleagues. Nonetheless, NA Speaker Galust Sahakyan did not cancel the voting results.
