YEREVAN. – The opposition does nothing; it just talks, talks, and talks again. Ruling Republican Party of Armenia National Assembly (NA) Faction member Margarit Yesayan stated the aforesaid on Saturday at the parliament.

She expressed regret that the opposition MPs have left the NA Sessions’ Hall, and therefore are not participating in the session.

“The opposition solely wants to senselessly prove that it is opposition. But it needs to express its view—differing from the [parliamentary] majority—on the government bills. 

“Our colleagues [of the opposition], on the other hand, are silent in the case of an urgent bill, for our society, such as tax benefits for small business,” Yesayan stated.     

Once the NA on Saturday adopted the bill on making amendments to the Law on Funded Pensions in the first reading, the opposition ARF Dashnaktsutyun and Armenian National Congress parliamentary factions accused the ruling party deputies of voting on the bill in lieu of their absent colleagues, and therefore demanded that the voting results be canceled. Nonetheless, NA Speaker Galust Sahakyan did not cancel the voting results.
