YEREVAN. – Official Yerevan is grateful to Russia for mediation efforts to find peaceful settlement of Karabakh conflict, Armenian FM Edward Nalbandian said on Monday.

“A month ago we marked 20 years since ceasefire agreement was signed, and we do remember that thanks to Russia and hard work we managed to agree on ceasefire between Azerbaijan and Nagorno-Karabakh, that was joined by Armenia,” he said during a joint press conference with Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov.

Nalbandian said the ministers had discussed international problems, in particular the situation in Iraq and Ukraine. He noted effective cooperation between Armenia and Russia in the international agencies, close cooperation within CSTO and CIS. The foreign ministries are holding regular consultations, the Minister added.
