YEREVAN. – Someone does not want to see a growth in Armenia’s alternative energy development, economist Tatul Manaseryan said at a press conference on Wednesday.
He noted that solar energy development activities were conducted in Armenia back in the 1980s, but in the 1990s, the models for the solar power plants, which were designed at the time, were not improved upon and not built.
“The same can be said for geothermal and other forms of renewable energy. I unwillingly am becoming convinced that some circles just don’t want for this domain to develop in Armenia, no matter how good the prerequisites for it are,” Manaseryan noted.
