YEREVAN. – Armenia’s opposition Heritage Party on Saturday kicked off its tenth party congress. 

Asking the permission of the congress participants, and instead of his opening remarks, Heritage’s Chairman, ex-presidential candidate, former FM Raffi Hovannisian read a letter from an anonymous Armenian citizen.  

Subsequently, Heritage Party Board Vice-Chairman Armen Martirosyan presented an account on the board’s activities for the past two years.  

As per Martirosyan, the Armenian civil society was unprepared for a long-term fight during the past parliamentary and especially the presidential elections, and this situation enabled the authorities to conduct unlawful elections.

In terms of Armenia’s foreign policy, Heritage’s official stressed that their party is an advocate of European integration and against the loss of the country’s sovereignty.
