YEREVAN. – Turkey FM Ahmet Davutoglu’s most recent statement, and with respect to “building a just memory on the events in 1915,” is addressed more to other countries than to Armenia.     

Armenian writer Meruzhan Ter-Gulanyan stated the aforesaid at a press conference on Monday. 

The writer commented on the main ideas that were expressed in the Turkish FM’s recent article. 

“In his article, Davutoglu speaks about everything except 1915. A stranger who is unaware of the reality would think that the Turks are making interesting proposals and be surprised that the Armenians don’t accept them.

“At first glance, it seems that the ice has moved. But the problem is that all of this is built on distortions [of the reality],” Ter-Gulanyan noted.  

The writer added that even though the Turks will still write a lot of articles with similar “diverse softness,” they will never forget about Azerbaijan’s “territorial integrity.”
