YEREVAN. – Armen Smbatyan has been appointed Adviser to the President of Armenia.

Based on the President’s decree, President Serzh Sargsyan has decided to appoint Smbatyan as Armenian Presidential Adviser on International Cultural and Humanitarian Cooperation, informed the Press Office of the President.

From 1996 to 1998, Armen Smbatyan worked as Minister of Culture of Armenia; between 2002 and 2010, he was Armenia’s Ambassador to the Russian Federation; and from 2010 to 2013, he worked as executive director of the CIS Interstate Humanitarian Cooperation Fund.
