YEREVAN. – The parliamentary four parties are ready to present their proposals on electricity price and wait for a response from the Public Services Regulatory Commission, MP from Prosperous Armenia Michael Melkumyan said.

In his opinion, the government can mitigate the situation, and his party is ready to discuss all the possible solutions to avoid the price increase.

“It is necessary to revise the depreciation and profits in the energy sector, it should be under government's control,” Melkumian stressed the need to develop a program for financial recovery.  He believes the government could have taken the moves to ease the situation.

As of August 1, the electricity fee in Armenia will rise by 9.9 percent.
