The Istanbul court rejected lawsuit filed by the Armenian patriarchate of Constantinople on return of the Sanasarian building to the patriarchate.

Representatives of patriarchate Ali Elibeyoglu said there are all papers and proofs for return of the building, but the court rejected the petition due to unclear reasons, Radikal newspaper writes.

Elibeyoglu said they would appeal the judgment and would petition to the European Court if necessary.

The Sanasarian building was constructed by Armenian benefactor Mkrtich Sanasarian back in 1895. The building was designed by Hovsep Aznavour.
