YEREVAN. – Turkey will never be ready to recognize a Kurdish state, including Iraqi Kurdistan, an Armenian analyst believes.

Vahram Petrosyan noted that Turkey is negative about establishment of a Kurdish state as “they are aware the Armenian issue will be raised together with the Kurdish one”.

The expert described the current close relations between Iraqi Kurdistan and Ankara as “situational, not strategic partnership”. This is proved by the fact that Turkish leadership had always suppressed and tried to control Kurdish aspirations for self-determination and establishment of Kurdish autonomy in the territory of Syria and Iraq.
