YEREVAN. – Armenia's Energy Ministry is not fulfilling commitment to develop projects aimed at improving energy efficiency, economist Gagik Makaryan told reporters.

Back in 2007, the government adopted a national program of energy efficiency and renewable energy committing itself to provide assistance to the programs aimed at improving energy efficiency.

“Besides, the government obliged to hold monitoring of efficiency and the level of energy loss. However, we do not see such programs,” Makaryan added.

The Public Services Regulatory Commission  unanimously decided to increase the electricity price in Armenia by about 10 percent, as of August 1.
