YEREVAN. – Within the framework of his working visit to Sochi, Russia, Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan met with his Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev.   

The interlocutors highly assessed the current level of Armenian-Russian relations and underscored the need to expand them further, informed the Press Office of the Government of Armenia.   

Abrahamyan and Medvedev conferred on bilateral strategic relations with respect to trade, economic and investment cooperation, and the joint projects in industry and infrastructure. PM Abrahamyan noted that these projects will substantially contribute to Armenia’s economic progress.    

At the same time, the Armenia and Russia premiers expressed satisfaction by the growing bilateral trade, and expressed confidence that it will continue to get new momentum once Armenia joins the Eurasian Economic Union (EaEU).   
The parties expressed certainty that Armenia’s EaEU accession agreement will be signed in a foreseeable future.  

Subsequently, Abrahamyan and Medvedev discussed the ongoing activities toward the modernization of the operating unit of Armenia’s nuclear power plant, the extension of its operation time limit, the raising of its safety level, and bilateral cooperation in several other domains.     

Following the private talk between the two PMs, the two countries’ delegations, led by Hovik Abrahamyan and Dmitry Medvedev, had a working lunch during which they conferred on matters of mutual interest.
