A team of British scientists has produced aircraft wings that can fix themselves after being damaged, reported the Independent.

A team at the University of Bristol has been developing the technology for the past three years, reported RIA Novosti news agency of Russia.

Their research is due to be presented at a Royal Society meeting in London.

Even the researchers involved in the project describe it as “verging on science fiction.”

The scientists also did not rule out the possibility that, in the future, this technology can be applied in various domains.
