A regional conference on financial inclusion was held recently in the Belarusian capital city of Minsk.

The event brought together representatives from the central banks of the CIS as well as the Central and Eastern European countries.

Armenia attended the conference with a delegation from the Central Bank of the country.

At the event, Armenian delegation member Armenuhi Mkrtchyan presented the results of a respective research conducted in Armenia. She also noted that a financial inclusion strategy is being developed in the country.

It was also noted that Armenia is considered the leading regional country in terms of financial education, consumer protection, and the institution of the financial system mediator.
