World Day of Social Justice is observed annually on February 20, since 2009.

UN General Assembly announced the establishment of this day with a resolution that was adopted in December 2008.

Accordingly, the UN member countries hold national events on this day, and help in the strengthening of social justice.

According to the organizers, the World Day of Social Justice should contribute to  poverty eradication, the promotion of full employment and decent work, gender equity, and access to social wellbeing and justice for all.
