Chinese scientists have successfully developed China's first quantum radar system, RIA Novosti reported quoting Xinhua.

It was reported that system development was finished in August by the staff of the 14th Institute of China Electronics Technology Group Corporation (CETC). Detection of single photons is the cornerstone of work of the system.

During tests it was established that range of action of system makes over 100 kilometers.

It was noted that such a radar system is capable to find air vehicles using stealth technology and largely resistant to radio interference.

In the middle of August, China successfully launched the world's first quantum communication satellite Mo-tse. Later, the satellite transmitted first 202 megabytes of data to the Earth.

According to academician of Chinese Academy of Science and chief scientist of Chinese quantum communication satellite project Pan Jianwe, all the systems of the satellite are working properly and it will be possible to start scientific experiments with its help in September.

Pan Jianwe also noted earlier that “satellite-Earth” connection has been successfully established between the Mo-tse and five ground stations which gives technical capability for testing of a quantum communication line.
