Facebook will expand its presence in the UK by 50% in 2017, BBC reported.

Next year it plans to open its new London headquarters. The company intends to hire 500 additional employees, including engineers, marketers, project managers and sales staff. Facebook's new headquarters will be in Fitzrovia. The majority of the new staff will be based there.

It was noted that this will be the largest engineering base outside of the U.S..

As it was supposed earlier, international companies can review the investment in the country due to the results of the referendum on Brexit.

However, Facebook's announcement comes just a week after Google announced a £1bn investment in a new London headquarters and the creation of 3,000 new jobs by 2020./
