Italian Emma Morano, who is considered the world' oldest person, died at the age of 117 years and 137 days, RIA Novosti reports, citing La Republica.

Emma Morano, born in 1899, was also one of the last famous supercentenarians born in the 19th century, France Press reports.  

Morano was considered the last oldest person alive since May 2016 after American supercentenarian Mushatt Jones died in New York.
