The detention period of Azerbaijani citizen Elnur Huseynzade, who is in custody in the Republic of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh Republic/NKR), will be extended by two months.

His attorney, Arkadi Israyelyan, told about the aforementioned to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Also, the attorney noted that he meets with his client on a regular basis. 

According to a statement which the NKR National Security Service disseminated, the Azerbaijani armed forces launched a sabotage attempt toward Talish village of Artsakh, on February 1. 

But the NKR Defense Army vanguards took preventive actions and drew the adversary back, making it suffer casualties. 

And as a result of an anti-sabotage operation, the Artsakh defense forces protecting the frontline captured Azerbaijani army soldier Elnur Huseynzade.

Criminal charges were brought against Huseynzade, on counts of sabotage attempt and illegal crossing of the NKR state border.
