Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi will stand trial on charges of paying for sex with underage and abuse of power, Press TV reported referring to Italian media.

The first hearing is scheduled for April 6, said Judge Cristina Di Censa.

Berlusconi faced allegations for having sex with Ruby, a 17-old belly dancer, but denies any connection. The prosecutors also accuse him of abuse of power, as he was trying to seek Ruby’s release when she was charged with theft.

Italians are discontent with Beruslconi’s behavior. Thousands of Italian women took to the streets on Sunday protesting against Premier Silvio Berlusconi’s conduct towards women. The protestors gathered under the slogan “if not now then when” demanded Premier’s resignation.
