The recent apprehension of several people is a message. This is what former director of the National Security Service of Armenia Davit Shahnazaryan told reporters today.

“The real reason why those people were apprehended is because Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is sending a message to the circles of Westerners whom he is accountable to and who helped him come to power so that he can do what he has been planning to do with respect to the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict for a long time, and the message was that he is ready to establish dictatorship in order to do what he is doing against the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic and that he has the leverages for that, including the police who lay well-known public figures on the asphalt for no good reason. Of course, he also solves other issues on the side and constantly tries to change the agenda. The police chief has assumed responsibility. He will unconditionally serve and make police officers serve the interests of Pashinyan and his family,” Shahnazaryan said.
