The emergency was declared in the US state of California amid the coronavirus outbreak, said State Governor Gavin Newsom.
"The State of California is deploying every level of government to help identify cases and slow the spread of this coronavirus," Business Insider reported quoting Newsom. "This emergency proclamation will help the state further prepare our communities and our health care system in the event it spreads more broadly."
The death toll of coronavirus reached 10 in the US, with 80 confirmed infections. Meanwhile, the US reported the first death on February 29 in the state of Washington.
