The authorities of the Turkish republic of the self-proclaimed Northern Cyprus have reported the first case of coronavirus infection in the republic, reports TASS, citing CNNTurk.

Based on the data, a tourist from Germany was diagnosed with coronavirus, but there is no information about the tourist’s condition.

Before March 9, Cyprus was the last member state of the European Union where coronavirus cases hadn’t been detected, but on that day, Minister of Health of Cyprus Constantinos Ioannou informed that two people have been diagnosed with coronavirus, including a 25-year-old resident from Milan and 63-year-old healthcare specialist from Nicosia.
