The number of cases of COVID-19 in the US has surpassed 1000, CNBC reported referring to the Johns Hopkins University.
According to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the virus is currently detected in at least 35 states and the District of Columbia. Almost half of all US cases are in Washington state, California and New York, where all the governors have declared states of emergency.
The death toll in the US has reached 28. And the first confirmed case was reported in Washington state in January.
