Minister of Equality of Spain Irene Montero has been diagnosed with coronavirus.

She and her husband, deputy PM Pablo Iglesias, were quarantined, NY Times reported. 

"This morning, the rest of the cabinet will be tested and the results will be known this afternoon and will be reported officially," the government said in a statement.

According to the latest data, there are 2,200 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Spain, and the death toll has reached 55.

On December 31, 2019, the Chinese authorities informed the World Health Organization (WHO) about an outbreak of unknown pneumonia in the city of Wuhan in the central part of the country (Hubei Province). Experts have identified the causative agent of the disease - new coronavirus.

The World Health Organization has already recognized it as a pandemic. About 120 thousand people in over 100 countries have already been infected globally, most of them have recovered, but over 4 thousand have died.
