Foreign students will be allowed to come to study at Russian universities after a 14-day quarantine and passing COVID-19 tests, the Ministry of Education and Science said.

The department named the second condition for admitting foreigners to study - the border of their country with Russia should be open.

If international communication with their country continues to be restricted, they will have to study remotely until these restrictions are lifted. The issues of entering Russia are not within the competence of the ministry, Interfax reported.

The academic year in universities will begin on September 1.
