Tesla CEO Elon Musk believes the United States has very, very ancient leadership.
Speaking about the fact that the life expectancy of people has increased significantly, Musk shared an interesting reflection on this issue.
"I don't think we should try to have people live for a really long time. That it would cause asphyxiation of society because the truth is, most people don't change their mind," Musk said. "They just die. So, if they don't die, we will be stuck with old ideas and society wouldn't advance."
According to him, gerontocracy, when the government is mainly controlled by citizens who are much older than the main part of the population, is an unhealthy phenomenon.
The US has a very, very ancient leadership. And it's just impossible to stay in touch with people if you're older than them by many generations.
Musk said he would like political leaders to ideally be within 10 or at least 20 years of the average age of the population.
He noted that although he would like to maintain good health for a long period of time, he is not afraid of death.
Since the start of President Joe Biden's tenure, Musk, who seemed agitated by the administration's efforts to combat climate change early last year, began to criticize Biden.
In January, the billionaire on Twitter called Biden a wet sock puppet in human form.
